CDL emerged as the world’s top real estate company in Corporate Knights’ 2020 Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the World ranking, one of the world’s leading sustainability indices. This also makes CDL the only Singapore company to be listed on the Global 100 for 11 consecutive years.
For its robust and multipronged climate and water strategies and disclosures, CDL is the only company in Southeast Asia and Hong Kong to be recognised on both the 2019 CDP A List for corporate climate action and 2019 CDP A List for water security.
Themed “Changing the Climate. Changing the Future.”, this digital sustainability report communicates CDL’s ESG performance and progress towards our ESG goals and targets set under the CDL Future Value 2030 Sustainability Blueprint. The report highlights CDL’s sustainability strategy that is anchored on our four pillars – Integration, Innovation, Investment and Impact, and our concrete actions in accelerating green building, sustainability, and climate advocacy efforts.
CDL has been ranked the top developer in the Building and Construction Authority’s "Search for Quality Housing" online tool since 2017. The tool compares developers and properties based on a Construction Quality Assessment System and Quality Mark. Five of CDL’s projects – The Venue Residences, The Glyndebourne, Tree House, Nouvel 18, and Hundred Trees – are also listed among the top 10 properties in Singapore.
CDL entered into an agreement to acquire a 51.01% joint controlling interest in Sincere Property for an initial investment of RMB 4.39 billion. Upon completion of the transaction, CDL will hold a joint controlling interest in Sincere Property via an offshore investment vehicle, making CDL the single largest shareholder of Sincere Property.
CDL emerged as the only Singapore company to win multiple accolades at the 5th Asia Sustainability Reporting Awards (ASRA), bringing home a total of three golds and one silver at the virtual awards ceremony held on 29 April 2020. CDL clinched gold for “Asia’s Best Integrated Report Award”, the most prestigious award for sustainability reporting across the region, as well as gold for “Best Carbon Disclosure” and “Best Sustainability Report (Digital)”, and a silver for “Best Sustainability Report (Design)”.
CDL has contributed to initiatives in support of vulnerable individuals, families and communities affected by COVID-19.
Ultra-high net worth (UHNW) individuals have driven the demand for property across global markets and CDL’s super-luxe property collection has successfully attracted a significant share of this market. Over S$1.03 billion in sales for Gramercy Park and New Futura is attributed to UHNW foreigners.
